Prayer.

As the summer seems to go faster and faster, I sense the need to make sure not to miss God's lesson for me in this experience. I've been learning that it's hard for one to have a teachable spirit when one is doing all the teaching. I'm starting to see a little more of the big picture, and I'm realizing that this whole summer is as much, if not more of a learning experience than anything else. So in this blog update I ask for you to keep me in prayer constantly, because I know God is calling me to have more of a teachable spirit and I want to be sensitive to the lesson God is teaching me. I will be putting up a prayer list soon, so you can know what to pray for.

Tuesday house church

Last Tuesday we had our very first guys house church-meeting. It was a real good time. I was only expecting a couple of kids, but a few more showed up. We're starting to go through the Gospel of John, so I had a lesson prepared on John chapter 1. Everything was going as planned but I had stop my lesson because I found it more important to answer the various questions they had about God and faith. As I was answering their questions I was encouraged to see that the kids are not just curious, but that they were genuinely searching for the truth. I'm so blessed to know that the Lord will use me to do His work. Tomorrow we will have our second meeting, and I'm expecting more kids to show up. So, please pray that the Lord would be present and that all goes according to His plan.

Sunday after church, some of the guys wanted to hang out. So we went out for lunch and caught a movie. Later that evening, we started discussing purity. They asked tons of good questions and communicated how hard it is for them not to give in to peer pressure. They explained that it was not just pressure in school, but also back at home in the community that they live in. I explained that I understood that it is tough, but as believers we are not to conform to the mold of this world. It is clear to me that God is doing a work in the lives of these young believers. However they need to be prayed for contentiously, so that that the enemy wont hinder there spiritual growth.

The Big bro!

This summer as part of my internship at The Way church, I'll become a big brother to three kids at youth group. I hung out with most of the kids looking for the ones who are spiritually open, teachable, and available. I've found that a lot of them are open to the Word, and that makes it hard to choose only a few; "The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few."Matthew (9:37). So be in prayer for me in making the wise decision.

I just graduated from GCBI(the Great Commission Bible Institute), and it feels good to finish something. It was such a great year for me; I was given the privilege to study under Dr. Randall D. Smith. I was also given tons of ministry opportunities with the help of the site coordinator, Mr. Sandel. These opportunities helped me put to use all that I was learning. Now that the year is done, I feel led to continue helping out at a small church called The Way. I've been helping for about six months, and now I feel God has opened the doors for the summer. This summer I'll be helping with the youth group, staring a children ministry, and also starting a guy's house church. I know this is going to be a time for me to learn about ministry, and I'm exited about that.
